Hejsan!
I’m Shaira, a proud wife, and mother, currently residing in Göteborg, Sweden. My greatest passions are traveling, dancing, writing, and cooking. I’m a registered nurse by education, pursued my passion in writing, which eventually led me to digital marketing, start-ups, and project management.
My love for travel has taken me to 30 countries. I enjoy immersing myself in different cultures, seeing new faces and places, and indulging in good food and Swedish fika!
About Fika with Sha
When I first visited Sweden in the spring of 2016, I fell in love with the concept of Swedish fika. As someone who already enjoyed having conversations with friends over a cup of good coffee and a delicious dessert, I felt that I fit right into this daily Swedish practice.

When I started this site, I initially wanted to make it as a reference for everything fika, but I soon realised it could be much more useful. I permanently moved to Sweden in the midst of the pandemic, the struggle to adjust was real. I had to sift through site after site looking for a decent resource to help me adjust to Swedish living.

Although I’ve lived here for a few months every year for three consecutive years and have a Swedish husband and family, moving for good was a different story that came with its own unique challenges. As a result, this will be an online resource for women like myself who have relocated to Sweden for love, work, school, or any other reason.
This will also be for women (and men) who share the same passions as I do, like traveling, fashion, and more, and a travel guide for those who want to visit Gothenburg and explore Sweden in general.
We believe in the value of “Conversations Over Fika”, so what do you discuss with your family and friends over fika? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
On a side note, I think that in Sweden, a great conversation starter is the weather. Everyone is kind of obsessed with the weather! Eller hur?
